Remote Keyless Entry System

The remote keyless entry system allows the driver to enter the vehicle without inserting a key into a door. When the driver pushes a button on a key, the key emits an identification code using radio waves (300 to 400 MHz) to the vehicle. The vehicle then compares the identification code to the vehicle’s code, and locks or unlocks doors if the two codes match.

The key can have many other function buttons, for example, to open the trunk or activate the vehicle’s security system (panic button).

DENSO supplies various keys and vehicle-side receivers for remote keyless entry systems, which are used in more than 100 countries.
