Vision Sensor
How it works:
- A camera on the vision sensor photographs lane markers ahead.
- The vision sensor calculates positions and shapes of the lane markers photographed (lane marker recognition process), and sends the information to the steering assist ECU.
- The vision sensor automatically adjusts the exposure of the camera to perform the lane marker recognition process more easily and accurately.
Benefits and Features
- Small size
- Adopting a CMOS image sensor for the camera results in a simple image sensor control circuit.
- A microcomputer performs the photographing process as well as the lane marker recognition process, simplifying processing circuits.
- High resolution
- The CMOS image sensor has approximately 300,000 pixels (640 pixels X 480 pixels).
