Electro-Mechanical Front Sensor DENSO's collision-detecting electro-mechanical front sensor, installed in the front of the vehicle, has a rotor. When a collision occurs, the rotor turns to close a contact point, depending on the deceleration generated by the collision. The sensor then sends a signal to the airbag ECU.
