Diesel Particulate Filter


The diesel particulate filter (DPF) traps particulate matter (PM) to remove it from the exhaust gas. When the trapped PM amount exceeds a certain degree, the PM is burned by catalyst, maintaining high DPF filtration efficiency.

DENSO’s durable DPF has high PM filtration efficiency with low exhaust gas pressure drop. DENSO can customize the DPF for engines to work most efficiently.

  • High thermal shock resistance
    • Due to a low thermal expansion coefficient of cordierite, DENSO’s DPF has high thermal shock resistance, resulting in high durability.
  • High PM filtration efficiency
    • DPF walls have an infinite number of very fine pores with improved uniformity and high porosity, which heightens PM filtration efficiency.
  • Low exhaust gas pressure drop
    • The uniform and highly porous DPF walls reduce exhaust gas pressure drop, maintaining engine performance.
