DENSO Technology – Leading the World
In 2001, DENSO introduced the world’s first electronic throttle body with a non-contact internal sensor, lengthening the life to more than double that of a conventional electronic throttle body. The non-contact sensor detects the rotation of the valve and adjusts the opening degree of the valve.
Benefits and Features
- Long life
- The DENSO-developed non-contact sensor using a hall IC significantly extends the throttle valve durability, lengthening the life to more than double that of a conventional throttle body.
- Precise air-amount control
- The non-contact sensor has a unique magnetic circuit, achieving precise detection of the valve rotation at a wide range of temperature to adjust the valve rotation.
- Small size and low cost
- The non-contact sensor is integrated with the throttle gear chamber cover, resulting in smaller size and lower cost.
- Connectors for the DC motor that drives the throttle valve and the non-contact sensor connectors are integrated with the cover, making assembly easier.
